The release of the Rolex Day Date in the 1950s revived the look and feel of the timepiece. With two new features, including two windows showing the day and date, the watch became more complex with a larger caliber. To hold calibers 1556 and later 3055, the case was also enlarged, measuring about 36mm in width and 12mm in thickness, giving the watch a greater presence on the wrist.
